If ever there were a game that proved that the underdog can triumph, it was this one. Burnley have been a strange club this season, and are nothing if not unpredictable. They’ve spent the majority of the season in the relegation zone, but have managed to draw with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham and they’ve beaten Southampton and now Manchester City.
The result has firmly dented City’s ambitions to chase Chelsea for the title and to add insult to injury for City, they’ve played Burnley twice this season and failed to beat them on both occasions.
Burnley have earned 4 points off them— 4 points that could prove very important to both teams come the end of the season. It’s also hard to imagine a team who just lost to 18th facing Barcelona in a matter of days, but it’s actually happening in real life on the 18th of March, so perhaps try to watch that.
