Sublime. That is the only way to describe the performance of the Liverpool skipper in the massive game against Manchester United.
The midfielder may be reaching the twilight of his career, but Gerrard showed that class is a permanent thing – and something that flows through his blood as much as the red of Liverpool does.
Yes, Manchester United were poor, but that is taking nothing away from the performance of Gerrard, who deserved all the plaudits post game and more.
The only thing the England skipper is looking to add to his collection before he hangs up his boots is a Premier League winners medal, and with performances like that and a manager like Brendan Rodgers, he might well get it.
