1040912In news that will not shock anyone here at La Footyette headquarters, Metro have claimed that Didier Drogba will one day make a permanent return to Chelsea.

The forward is of course returning to Stamford Bridge tonight for the Champions League tie against Chelsea, and has spoken out about how emotional he feels that will be. Clearly the sentiment has been reciprocated by the Blues fans and manager Jose Mourinho, who Drogba of course sees as his footballing father.

Links have been made between Drogba and Chelsea in terms of a return to the club both as a coach and also as a player, and the Blues have not exactly found anyone to recreate the success of the Ivory Coast International since his departure – yes Fernando we are looking at you.

Mourinho spoke ahead of the club’s knockout round tie tonight and claimed: ‘He is a Galatasaray player, we know he is a free agent and we know he finishes his contract at the end of the season,

‘I think it has to happen one day. When, I don’t know – as a player, as a coach, as an ambassador – next year, in four or five years, in 10 years – I don’t know.’
