Munich hero set for Chelsea return?

3941967When we heard the claim that Didier Drogba was set for a Chelsea reunion, we could have been forgiven for thinking that Metro were referring to the Champions League, where the former Chelsea forward will of course come up against the Blues on Wednesday.

Whilst we cannot wait for that, the claim that Roman Abramovich is personally trying to lure the Ivorian back to Stamford Bridge as part of the coaching staff next season is something that has taken all our attention.

Chelsea are in dire need of a forward – and could well do with Drogba back in a playing capacity – but the aim is to lure the powerful forward to the Bridge as a coach, in the hope that big bucks no longer need to be spent on misfiring forwards, and that the Munich hero will develop and coach young stars instead.

Given his relationship with Jose Mourinho – his footballing ‘father’ and the fact that his wife and kids still live in Surrey, we think that this rumour could well have more than a little bit of truth to it, and what a return it would be for the forward who has been sorely missed since his departure.

Would you bring Drogba back on the coaching staff? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
