It was all just too easy for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea this season

Where was the competition? When it comes to the top of the table, the season is already over. Last weekend, Chelsea won the title for the first time since 2010 after a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. It was a great result for Chelsea, but it comes after grumbles that the Champions were a bit boring in the lead up to their claiming of the trophy.

This accusation of “boring, boring Chelsea” is greatly misplaced—and in my opinion, the fault doesn’t lie entirely with them for our general lack of entertainment. The problem with this season’s trophy race isn’t that Chelsea were boring – it was that there was a distinct lack of competition for the top spot which let down the league.

Here’s why the league was too easy for Chelsea to win it this year – and why their almost unchallenged triumph may be a good thing for Chelsea fans, but it isn’t necessarily a great thing for English Football.

Chelsea didn't need to break a sweat

What are your thoughts on the title race? Did the other top teams pose enough of a threat to Chelsea this year, or did Chelsea simply just blow them away? Let us know below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
