Five transfer targets for Everton and Roberto Martinez

Roberto Martinez exceeded expectations last season after taking over from a Manchester United bound David Moyes.

Martinez led Everton to a Europa League place, while Moyes dragged United to a lowly seventh place in the Premier League and lost his job as a consequence.

Despite a good maiden run,  half way through his second season in charge Martinez and his men are struggling to replicate their previous form having won only five games from 22.

The Spaniard was able to hold onto top players such as England international Ross Barkley during the summer window and spent a club record fee on Romelu Lukaku but there are whispers that a few of Everton’s other top players may not be so loyal this window.

Either way Martinez needs desperately to strengthen his side if he is to save their season.

With that in mind, here are five players rumoured to be joining Everton.
