Mark Noble It’s time for a deep, collective, domestic breath.

It has been a tremendous start to a very topsy-turvy Premier League season, and now we finally get a break– well, some of us do.

For once, there are a few West Ham United players who are keeping their boots to hand to represent their country on an international level.

There’s some good news for West Ham in that Downing, Jenkinson and Collins are set to have a busy break – and before you wonder why so few of our players are participating in said break, do remember that a lot of our internationals (Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia, Winston Reid and Cheikhou Kouyate in particular) represent countries who aren’t playing during this particular break.

It’s always good to see a Hammers’ name on an international teamsheet, and should West Ham keep up their tremendous run in the league, it surely won’t be long before more countries have West Ham players down as the first names on their lists.

With that in mind, here is a look at who from West Ham did and didn’t get called up for their country on this occasion – and whether or not that was the right decision.

Click on Downing to unveil the five players we think should – or should not have been handed an international call-up.

Stewart Downing - Picked for: England. Good Shout? Yes.
