Wenger deemed Falcao too expensive to sign

Only pride was at risk Arsenal fans are looking as depressed as we have ever seen them at La Footyette headquarters as Metro claim that Radamel Falcao was deemed too expensive for the Gunners by manager Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman, who is currently on his way to Rome for a charity match, decided that the Monaco forward – who is now Manchester United bound – would simply cost too much either for the £13 million loan deal or the £51 million to take him on a four year permanent deal, leaving the Gunners with one fit forward.

Using the term ‘forward’ to describe Yaya Sanogo is slightly adventurous but with Olivier Giroud injured, he is the best Arsenal have and we think the title is clearly beyond them if the situation remains the same.

We are also slightly surprised that Loic Remy was allowed to slip through Wenger’s fingers given he only cost Chelsea £10.5 million and was deemed fit enough for Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal fans. What on earth is Wenger playing at? Is this just typical Arsene? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
