Kroos set to be offered £260,000 per week by United

kroosThe Guardian are not usually a publication we are shocked by, but all of our Footyettes are rather taken aback after they claimed that Toni Kroos is set to be offered a huge money deal by Manchester United.

Of course, the Bayern Munich player is one of David Moyes’ biggest transfer targets as the summer approaches, and it seems that the club will stop at nothing to land him.

Kroos is now thought to be considering his future under Pep Guardiola – but if someone offered us £260,000 per week, it would probably have the same effect.

As has been well publicised, Wayne Rooney is the highest earner at Old Trafford, on a reported £300,000 per week, but the sum of money offered to Kroos would put him right up there with the likes of Robin van Persie.

Bayern are preparing for life after Kroos, who is yet to sign a new deal with the Bavarians, after they signed Sebastian Rode on a four year deal from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Whilst Kroos tends to play slightly further up the field than Rode, he is also able to slot in the midfield in a deeper role – something seen to devastating effect during the Champions League second leg against Manchester United, where Kroos pulled the strings and orchestrated a win.

Do you think United should break the bank to sign Kroos or is that about as sensible as giving Alan Pardew an eight year deal? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
