Barkley to make stunning switch across Merseyside?

Raised eyebrows have not quite covered it today after our favourite Footyettes heard the latest claim from Metro.

The publication have certainly turned our heads with their claim that Ross Barkley could be in line for a £38 million move to Liverpool.

Whilst that would be pretty big news in itself, the fact that Barkley currently plays his trade for Everton makes it a jaw dropping claim.

We cannot imagine quite how the Goodison Park faithful would react should this move be allowed to come off, but given how well Everton are doing this term, not to mention the increased revenue from TV money, the Toffees will not be forced into selling anyone. Let alone their star talent to their bitter rivals.

Liverpool are not the only club keen on Barkley, with Chelsea and both Manchester United and City also monitoring the star, meaning that should one bid come in for him, a bidding war could spark into life.

This could be a golden season for those on Merseyside, no matter if they favour red or blue, and this could well dominate the summer.
