When Young and Valencia started against City many scratched their heads. While Valencia has shown glimpses of his old self in recent weeks he still isn’t quite back to his best which saw him terrorize full backs. Young on the other hand has not produced in a United shirt (8-2 win over Arsenal aside!) and is often the scapegoat for all blame – but his continued inclusion was puzzling to say the least.
Nani was widely expected to leave this summer, before signing a new 5-year deal. While Nani is United’s best winger, he can be frustrating to watch but his creativity and ability to create something out of nothing is something the current team lacks. Kagawa also needs minutes – but looks to be bang out of favour. Rumours of a January transfer will only get stronger here on out.
