demichelis_1651654cManchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini spoke out after the win over Hull, noting that whilst he is pleased with the three points, he is highly concerned over his side – and wants them to improve in the coming weeks.

The manager saw his side bounce back from the shock defeat to Cardiff City with a 2-0 victory at home, and saw Yaya Toure secure the win with a late free kick after new boy Alvaro Negredo got off the mark with his first goal for the club.

Pellegrini noted after the win: “First of all, the most important (thing) is the points.

“In our friendly matches in pre-season we tried to work on different things, but when we start the Premier League the most important thing is to win the three points.

“I am very happy with the win but of course I think we must improve.”

City are of course in the middle of a rather difficult time with injuries and have been linked with a host of defenders in recent weeks, including Real Madrid’s Pepe, yet as noted by the Daily Mail, they now seem to be closing in on a £4 million move for Atletico Madrid’s Martin Demichelis.

Good player I think he would do well in the Prem. Without Big Vincent City look shakey at the back.
