Who are this Aston Villa team? Surely they can’t be the same Aston Villa who, at the start of the season, didn’t win a single game in October or November and failed to score a single goal in October? How is the same team that got turfed out of the League Cup in their first game (against Leyton Orient no less) now heading to an FA Cup Semi – Final this weekend?
The answer is a wonderful performance – not specifically by the players on the pitch – but by new manager Tim Sherwood. Since Sherwood took over from Paul Lambert, Villa have been a club transformed.
Strong results have pulled Villa six points clear from the relegation zone and turning over Sherwood’s former club Tottenham at White Hart Lane is a tremendous result for the both manager and club – and irrespective of the rest of their season, may turn out to be their best game. After this win, Villa are highly unlikely to go down – well done to them and Sherwood.
