Not only is the Manchester United player showing Louis van Gaal exactly what he can do going forward – and it is a fair bit – he is also showing that his workrate is actually far better than Jose Mourinho claimed it was.
He was their star man against Liverpool and wasn’t too shabby against Tottenham Hotspur either. Not too bad for a player who only sits on the bench and writes a blog on a Monday morning.
United are actually flying at the minute and are not just getting the results and playing badly as they did earlier in the season. They are playing very well and getting the points to boot.
Against both Spurs and Liverpool, they showed just what they can do when on song – and with Louis van Gaal claiming he will not change the side when they are playing well, you have to wonder if he has found what will be his best XI from now until the end of the season.
United are not just in a battle for a top four spot anymore. They could well finish second and given they are only two points behind Manchester City and have them to play, you wouldn’t bet against them in this form.
Liverpool meanwhile have it all to do and United fans will relish being the club that put them in that position.
