It would be one thing if the likes of West Ham United were trying to score Milner on a free once his current deal runs out but a host of top sides at home and even abroad are looking at the versatile player.
Milner is someone who can play just about anywhere and managers know a player like that is worth his weight in gold. Add to that his work ethic and experience and you have a player who can also mentor the kids and bring a whole lot to the dressing room.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility that City could even build a coaching clause into his contract and try and persuade him that by staying for another few years as a player, he can then seamlessly move into coaching and extend his career.
