There is no denying that if Gordon joined Chelsea, his bank balance would go through the roof but his career would probably go backwards.
Sitting on the bench and playing second fiddle to a keeper you think you have a chance of managing to usurp is one thing – but when it is someone as good as Courtois, that becomes a different scenario.
If Gordon is only interested in boosting his weekly pay, then a move to Chelsea would be ideal for him, but if he actually wants to be respected and someone who plays week in, week out, there is only one thing for him to do and that is to turn the Blues down and remain at Celtic.
