Sorry Tim, but did anyone expect life at Newcastle United under Alan Pardew to be different?

Tim KrulAny Newcastle United fan would tell you that life at the club never really runs smoothly, so after seeing Tim Krul claim that things under Alan Pardew were ‘massively up and down’ there can’t seriously be too many raised eyebrows.

Life under any Newcastle manager is never plain sailing and you have to wonder if that is down to the owner rather than the constant stream of managers who come in and out of the club – and with the massive clash against Pardew’s Crystal Palace upon us, there is no shocker that life under Pardew has been scrutinised quite heavily.

Of course, when a manager leaves a club, it is easy to romanticise life playing for them – and that has happened a fair few times in the past, but not for Tim Krul who was brutally honest in his assessment of Pardew’s time at St James Park.

The goalkeeper claimed: ‘It was massively up and down. There were a lot of negatives and a lot of positives and it would be nice to get one over on him on Wednesday night.’

Whilst for sentimentality’s sake it would obviously be good for the Magpies to get all three points, it is pretty vital in terms of their push for the top ten as well – and the players cannot lose sight of that against a Palace side who also harbour ambitions of making that top ten.

Newcastle United fans. Did you expect life to be anything different under Pardew? Will the way the club is run ever change? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
