Is West Ham star Diafra Sakho the right man to solve Liverpool’s forward worries?

Diafra SakhoIt seems that Liverpool are finally accepting the fact that Mario Balotelli is not the forward they hoped for and are considering bringing in another striker once the January transfer window opens.

One man Brendan Rodgers is reportedly considering is West Ham United star Diafra Sakho, who has seriously impressed since his move from Metz in the summer – and given he only cost £4.4 million, West Ham would make a serious profit should they cave to pressure and sell the forward this winter.

That would not be something Hammers fans would want to consider at the minute, with them sitting third in the table and only rising – and Sakho is a huge part of that.

For Sam Allardyce, who has been a significant factor in the success the club has enjoyed this season, selling a star asset would not be something that he would look to do, with players such as Alex Song being wooed on long term deals – and others who have shone this term such as Sakho seen as having long term futures at the club.

From Liverpool’s point of view, they have a host of top targets and would not be deterred should they fail to land one option with players such as Gonzalo Higuain and Jackson Martinez also being touted about as options.

In fact, Liverpool could do with taking a couple of lessons from West Ham’s book this season, with their defence top of the line, their goalkeeper doing the business, their midfield looking energetic and their forwards bagging the goals – even Andy Carroll is getting in on the action!

Liverpool fans. Is Sakho someone you would consider signing or is there someone that you would prefer? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.

No chance if that! He is on a solid 5 year contract with no clauses. There is no way that the David’s will let him go. Dream on. West ham is no longer a selling club.
