United are not actually doing too badly

They are obviously not doing well, before anyone makes that comment, but things are not all doom and gloom.

They are improving and even a team like Chelsea would have found it difficult this season with all their injuries and suspensions.

United are within touching distance of the top four and have played a fair few tough fixtures in the last few weeks as well – and should they beat Arsenal when domestic football returns, things will look very different.

Wasting money on players who would only be a small improvement on the likes of Jones and Smalling is pointless.
