He is a great player and is developing so well under Brendan Rodgers.
Not only that, but he has a great head on his shoulders and is never in the papers for the wrong reasons – anymore.
Given his performances so far, it is hard to remember he is only 19 years of age, and the weight of expectations now being forced on him are so high.
A couple of bad performances and everyone is waiting to point this out and question his future.
If he does well, the links with a new megadeal – or move to Real Madrid loom. If he performs badly, the press are out for blood – the supporters cannot do the same.
Too much attention and hype can easily turn a player’s head, not to mention make them crumble under a pressure they have not experienced before.
Players like Steven Gerrard need to take him under their wing and manager Rodgers has to make sure his head does not get turned.
