One of the most heartening things to come out of the start of the season is that not only have the new signings brought in some much needed electricity and passion to the side, they’ve also jump-started the careers of some of the players we already had.
Stewart Downing has been moved slightly in position to accommodate the new boys, and it’s been the single greatest thing to ever happen to him. He’s lively, creative, brilliant going forward, and is constantly creating opportunities.
Mark Noble has also benefitted from the changes in midfield, and the boy looks great with a captain’s armband on.
He’s been far more active and even managed to swing in a decent corner the other day, which set up Carlton Cole to score – and might I add that Carlton has two goals to his name already this season?
We’ve still got a few months of football left to hold onto our Champions League, which may prove… challenging, but I still have my hopes and dreams pinned firmly on a convincing top ten finish for the Hammers.
