Five Chelsea kids who you REALLY need to know about

Lewis BakerChelsea boss Jose Mourinho claimed at the start of the season that if the likes of Lewis Baker did not make it into the senior England side, it would be his fault.

Many people may have turned their noses up at that assumption and claimed that the Blues are not exactly known for allowing young academy stars to progress and get a run in the first team, but this time around it is different.

Not only is Mourinho looking to build a long term project at Chelsea, but the kids in the academy are seriously good, and the Under 21 side managed to do the double last season – and that was in no small part down to Baker, who came up with a cracking goal against Manchester United to secure the Premier League and at Old Trafford no less.

The FA Youth cup final was no less thrilling and Fulham will still be wondering just how the Blues managed to dig in and get three late goals to secure the double.

Considering that, it is no wonder Mourinho is keen to bring these starlets through to the first team starting line up and here are five of those players who Mourinho has opted not to send out on loan and handed a chance to impress him in close quarters.
