He is 19 years of age - too much pressure and expectation could ruin himWe can understand why Raheem Sterling has been tired of late if he has been reading up on all the speculation over his future, with the sheer column inches that have been generated more than enough to keep him awake at night – and Metro have only added to this.

Links with Real Madrid have been doing the rounds and it had even been rumoured that Sterling was set to be offered a new deal from Liverpool to keep him at the club – and that it would be worth more than £100,000 per week!

Now that is no small change no matter who you are and we certainly think that Sterling could do far worse than to pen the new deal, commit his short term future to Liverpool and watch his career develop knowing that he will be playing week in, week out for a manager who will treat him with care.

That may not happen at Real Madrid, but according to boss Carlo Ancelotti, 19 year old Sterling is not on their radar claiming: ‘it is clear he is not in our plans,’ and that the La Liga side can do without him!

Now we think that the former Chelsea boss might just be telling porkie pies here, with Real Madrid always on the lookout for the best and brightest young talent in Europe!
