Jose Mourinho is not one to suffer from a lack of confidence and Metro report that the Chelsea manager has taken it one step further.
Mourinho has reportedly personally called Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira to convince the star that west, not north London is the destination for him.
Given the relationship between Khedira and Mourinho, forged during Mourinho’s spell in charge at the Bernabeu, we think that the chances of the World Cup winner snubbing Arsenal have increased dramatically.
Arsene Wenger is keen on landing Khedira and a fee had been agreed with Real Madrid – but a £150,000 per week wage demand put paid to a deal being sorted out sooner – and now Wenger may once again rue the day he was tight fisted with money.
Toni Kroos is set to become the latest midfielder at the Bernabeu and that almost certainly signals the end of Khedira’s career at the home of the Champions League winners.
Arsenal fans. Do you think that Mourinho will be able to persuade Khedria that Chelsea is the best destination for him or will Wenger win out in the end? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
