Fresh from the Netherlands marginally missing out on a World Cup final place, it seems that Louis van Gaal and Wesley Sneijder may yet be spending even more time together.

According to the Sun, the new Manchester United manager is interested in bringing attacking midfielder Sneijder to Old Trafford as he looks to rebuild the team.

Described as fast paced and strong on the ball, Sneijder has been at Turkish side Galatasaray since 2013, making 40 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

With experience playing at Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter Milan in what has been a highly enviable career, it is no wonder Van Gaal would want to acquire the talented 30 year old as he begins his tough new challenge at Manchester United.

Galatasaray are said to have valued the player at around £16m, which considering Sneijder’s age seems quite fair and easily affordable for a club like United.

With his wealth of experience and close relationship with the incoming manager if the deal goes through Sneijder could prove a good purchase for United, though as he is 30, he would not be the best long term option.

United supporters. Would you like to see Sneijder join your team? Do you think van Gaal should be looking for younger players? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes
