bale la decimaReal Madrid have finally managed to lift La Decima after twelve years of waiting and it has only cost them more than a billion quid.

A big chunk of that dosh was spent on Gareth Bale who of course scored the goal in extra time to put the La Liga giants ahead of city rivals and La Liga winners Atletico Madrid.

Now it seems that the Welshman feels it is only right to gush about the club, claiming he would have joined them for ‘a penny.’

Obviously that has gotten a fair few people raising their eyebrows and whilst Bale may well think that is an ok amount, the general consensus is that Tottenham Hotspur and indeed Daniel Levy would not.

Given the Lilywhites spent the Bale money on a fair few players who did not exactly live up to their price tags they have encountered some issues this season, and we think that Paddy Power has it spot on with their latest quip.

They tweeted: @PaddyPower ‘Bale says he would have joined Real ‘for a penny’. Even for a club that paid £30m for Lamela, that’d be an amazingly inept transfer deal.’

Our Footyettes are cracked up and we think that the betting company who of course mocked Fernando Torres up as a burger van worker have outdone themselves this time!
