On the final day of the season City stepped out at the Etihad needing only one point against 12th placed West Ham.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini boasted a fully fit squad and gave starts to both forwards Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, who has been pivotal this season for the Citizens when main striker Aguero was out injured.
City were unlikely to give up the chance of winning their second title in three seasons easily and were the more attacking team straight from the kick-off.
The Hammers were forced to keep chasing the ball as City dictated the pace of the game with Samir Nasri finding the back of the net after a simple shot that West Ham’s keeper got hands to but couldn’t keep out.
There was much of the same in the second half as City stayed calm and in control resulting in captain Vincent Kompany scoring their second goal of the match.
At the final whistle City were crowned the Premier League winners after a title race this season that has entertained from start to finish.
