Liverpool – Liverpool v Manchester City

There can only be one winner this week.

Liverpool have been simply sensational at times this season but everyone wondered if they would be able to beat Manchester City at Anfield to move ever closer to their first Premier League title.

It turns out that they need not have worried, with the club showing exactly why they are now installed as the bookies favourites to lift the league title.

A performance to remember by skipper Steven Gerrard, the SAS and co has led to universal acclaim from fans and pundits alike, with some people calling the Reds the ‘people’s choice’ for the title.

Whilst we will not be going that far, they certainly deserve some credit for their display this weekend, and the emotional on the field speech from Gerrard after the final whistle had blown, where he told his players they simply cannot ‘let this slip now’ will go down in the history books.
