Going into the tie Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it was a must win match, but it was Crystal Palace who opened the scoring with a Jason Puncheon goal in the 31st minute.
The tie was not going well for the Bluebirds and desperately trying to get back into the game, Cardiff begged for a penalty but it was quickly dismissed.
Palace added to Solskjaer’s misery with another two goals to seal victory for the Eagles, and after their 10th defeat since January surely only a miracle can now keep the woeful Welsh side up.
