The result of the night, if not of the Champions League group stages, has provided us with two things.
Firstly the belief that Arsenal could actually be making real progress and may even (whisper it Gunners fans) win a trophy this season.
Secondly, it has also provided us with the tweet of the week.
The rather witty quip came courtesy of @BrooksDT, who made reference the nickname Michael Essien gives his manager and favourite person in the world, Jose Mourinho.
Essien of course rather cringe worthily calls Mourinho ‘Daddy,’ and our new king of tweets suggested that Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp adopted the same mantra when it comes to Arsene Wenger.
The Arsenal boss managed to knock down the Yellow Wall and, with the help of Aaron Ramsey, plunged BVB’s qualification hopes into real doubt. Not only that, but they have basically secured Arsenal’s passage to the knockout stages – from the Group of Death no less.
With no further ado, here is the tweet in full glory:
@BrooksDT:
“Arsene Wenger politely suggests that Jurgen Klopp call him “Daddy” like Michael Essien does with Jose Mourinho.”
Arsenal of course have their crunch clash against Manchester United on the weekend, and if they win that, the Premier League managers might have to start calling Wenger that as well!!
Is Wenger the Daddy? Let us know your thoughts below or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
