Manchester United can lay down a real marker by beating Chelsea

What on earth ref?Winning at Stamford Bridge is pretty much mission impossible unless you are Bradford.

Under Jose Mourinho in the league, the Blues have only lost ONE league game at home and that was to Sunderland last season complete with very dubious penalty decision.

This weekend, Manchester United travel to west London to face the Champions elect and while there are no suggestions that the title race is about to get going once again, or that Chelsea are about to slip up after three hard fought wins and a Manchester City demise, there is no denying that United are the form team in the league.

Chelsea are without Diego Costa for the second time against United this season and will hope to have Loic Remy back – although with Eden Hazard in such scintillating form, Mourinho will not worry about his side creating chances or getting goals – after all they managed to do so with Didier Drogba up top at Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Chelsea will be Premier League winners, but had United shown this form and style of play back in January, the league table could look very different – and there is no denying that Mourinho and his men would be looking over their shoulders.

Now, a top two finish looks on the cards for United and Louis van Gaal will want to show that come next season, they will be title challengers.

There is no better way to do that or to lay down a real marker than to win against his old friend Mourinho – or at Stamford Bridge and show the champions to be that they will have a real challenger next season.

Chelsea fans. Can Manchester United come to Stamford Bridge and win or is that just wishful thinking? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.

United are doing just great at the moment but with Mourinho able to swing big games in his favour via tactical astuteness even makes it more intriguing. Chelsea’s worst result in that game i believe will be a draw.
