There is a school of thought that will try and tell you Liverpool are actually better without Steven Gerrard in the starting line up and while that one is best left for another day, there is no doubting that Jordan Henderson has more than stepped up in Gerrard’s absence.
The midfielder, who is becoming more and more important to the Liverpool side, can now boast four goals – including that one against Manchester City – and ten assists to his name and has an astonishing record when skippering the side.
With Henderson wearing the armband, Liverpool have won nine of those games, drawn three and lost zero!
