People in football often talk about a game of two halves but in Liverpool’s case it seems they are having a season of two halves – in terms of the Premier League at least.

The Reds are now most people’s favourites for a top four spot and are in far better form than any of their rivals.

Not only have they seen off Southampton, they have also dispatched with defending champions Manchester City with a stunning goal no less and are climbing their way up the table.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have been receiving plenty of plaudits post Christmas and deservedly so – and here are five reasons we think things have turned around for the Merseyside club.
