Five things we learnt from Liverpool after their massive win over Besiktas

Liverpool fans will know that their first leg win against Besiktas in the Europa League round of 32 was huge.

Not only will it give them something to take into the second leg and make them the favourites to progress in the competition, it will also give them a huge confidence boost ahead of their crucial weekend game.

Brendan Rodgers and his side are in form at the minute and going to Anfield is no easy task when the Reds are poor – let alone when they are getting the results.

Besiktas gave it a go but even with Demba Ba, could not find a way to get a goal nor keep their hosts out of the net at the other end.

It was a job well done for Liverpool and here are five things we learnt from the performance.
