Strength shown in Tyne-Wear derby victorySunderland always seem to find themselves mixed up in relegation battles over the course of the season.

With teams so tightly packed in the bottom half of the table, just one weekend of football can make the difference between being safe or being deep in the danger zone.

But despite their difficulty racking up the goals Sunderland have managed more than once to come from behind and hold teams to earn themselves precious points.

With 15 games left of the season the Black Cats still have a mountain to climb before they can consider themselves safe but with the help of key players they will stay up. With that in mind, we have taken a look at just why we think the club can stay in the Premier League.
