Both Liverpool and Manchester City are coming off the back of defeats in Europe – and will want to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Liverpool are desperate to get back into the top four and given they cannot now qualify for the Champions League any other way after being knocked out by Besiktas, it is this or bust for the Reds.

City meanwhile will take the opportunity to send out a message to Chelsea – who they can close the gap on to two points – and show that an away trip to Anfield does not hold any fear for them.
