Drop the 3-5-2 formation!

Louis van Gaal claims he cares not what the fans think of the formation, but it is becoming clearer that this is not the formation that plays to his squad’s strengths.

Why would Angel Di Maria be played as a striker? Why on earth is Rooney playing in the middle of the park? Van Gaal seems desperate to make this work, as it has done for him in the past, but it needs to be reconsidered.

In order to keep winning games, and ensure his side have a Champions League place come May, he needs to play all of his players in the positions they work best in – oh and stop making brochures for press conferences as well!
