Five players Newcastle United are eyeing up ahead of the summer

Given it may be managerial merry-go-round once again in the summer at St James Park, it is probably a good job that the club’s board deal with the incomings and outgoings when it comes to the players.

Mike Ashley and his board are making sure that they hit the summer transfer window running and already have a list of top targets – which is probably a good job given the odds are not exactly long on them selling off at least a couple of their star players – and replacements will be needed.

With that in mind, we have taken a look at five of the targets that the club are already considering.
