Gordon was gutted with his performance after the first leg and rightly so – but more than atoned for it during the second leg.
From point blank saves to being as commanding as you could ask of your goalkeeper in the box, he was magnificent when called upon – which was far less than it could’ve been thanks to his defenders. It speaks volumes that the goal which finally beat him was a world class effort from a quality player and one that even Manuel Neuer would be picking out the back of the net.
Gordon was one of a few Celtic players who gave anything and everything they could to get their side through to the next round and can come out of the tie feeling much better than he did after the first leg.
