guidetti 3After finding the back of the net 11 times in his first twelve appearances for Celtic following a loan move from Manchester City, the future certainly looked bright for John Guidetti.

That was a record any forward in world football would be proud of but after a goal drought that cost him his place in the starting line up under manager Ronny Deila, the star surrounding the Golden Bhoy faded ever so slightly.

Now after a cracking goal against Inter Milan to offer his side some hope going into their second leg Europa League tie and somewhat of a resurgence from the forward, talk of said deal has come back with a vengeance and you can understand why.

The forward is only 22 years of age and is still learning his craft – and as manager Deila said, needs to have a regular run of games in the side and get some much needed confidence he can draw on when the goals aren’t coming and the chances are passing him by

The one thing that is clear is that run of games will not come at parent club Manchester City who would be happy to let the forward leave come the summer – and Guidetti is well aware of that fact.

Celtic fans have embraced him and the manager is someone who seems to rate him but has made it clear there will be no special treatment and his place in the side will have to come on merit and form alone which the forward has earnt with gusto recently.

Guidetti wants to hold off until the end of the season to make a decision over his future but keep banging in the goals he will have at least one suitor come that time.

Celtic fans. Would you like to sign Guidetti on a permanent deal come the summer? How important has he been for you this season? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
