Leeds United fans could be forgiven for taking a collective sigh upon hearing their manager declare that forward Steve Morison has a future at the club and given they are fighting for their life in the Championship, it stands to reason that supporters want a proven goalscorer.
After giving his support to the forward and claiming that he is in his plans despite some seriously lacking performances, manager Neil Redfearn once again gave the player an opportunity to show what he could do against Bolton and as predicted by many of the fans, the forward was left wanting.
As the old saying goes, goals win you games and when you are carrying a forward who does not produce them for 90 long minutes, you are effectively playing with ten men. That is not something even the very best of sides can do, let alone one fighting for their lives in the Championship.
Leeds are a huge club. They have a fan base that is dedicated, passionate and deserving of far more than the turmoil they have had to deal with in recent years.
A misfiring forward is really the least of their problems, with their managerial merry-go-round seemingly never ending and an owner who is in and out of trouble.
The January transfer window is usually the ideal time for managers to add to their squads and make sure that they have what they need – but it is also the ideal opportunity to get rid of the deadwood at the club. Unfortunately for Leeds, it does not seem like they are set to do that anytime soon.
Leeds fans. Do you think that Morison’s time at the club is up? Was his performance against Wigan the final straw for you? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.

I personally think we would have won today if we had a clinical centre forward. Would like to see him sold straight away. By the way we played Bolton not Wigan today.

Maybe he let Morrison have one last go at it before he brought someone in.
