David De Gea may be Manchester United’s most consistent, and valuable player – but Wayne Rooney is their all round player.

Rooney seemed to be almost everywhere against Newcastle, in one of the best performances he’s shown this season. Against Spurs he may have looked exhausted at times but there is one thing you can always count on with Rooney – you get 100% percent and when the fixtures are thick and fast, he is the man you want leading your side.

Rooney’s versatility is a huge advantage to Louis van Gaal, especially as Wayne is one of the few players who is still fit!
