Liverpool are considering hiring AVB but they should learn from their rivals’ mistakes

avbYou would think Premier League clubs would have learnt by now. However when it comes to Andre Villas Boas, it seems that is not the case.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager could technically afford never to work again and live a very lavish lifestyle after his pay outs from both of the London clubs – but it appears that Liverpool are hoping that the third time could well be a charm.

With manager Brendan Rodgers coming under increasing pressure, it seems that the Reds are searching for a list of alternate managers and Metro think that AVB is the top of their list.

Now once bitten twice shy should really apply here with AVB doing nothing in his second shot at Premier League management to show that he had learnt from his mistakes at Chelsea – and what a lengthy list he had.

AVB came off as a petty man who had a massive chip on his shoulder and his ‘punishments’ for players ranged from taking their car parking spaces to banning them from the Christmas party – and Spurs players fared no better.

Beanie hats caused a particular point of contention but the overriding opinion of AVB was that he had not grown up and any tactical and managerial ability he actually showed flashes of possessing were drowned out by his petulance.

His time in Russia is going relatively well – but it is Russia. The competition is not exactly overly fierce. He has been able to link up with his former favourite player Hulk and has had things mainly his own way.

At Liverpool, that would be very different with expectations higher than ever and a certain Mario Balotelli amongst the players – who once can only assume would not take so well to being asked to remove a hat  -let alone curb any of his other eccentricities.

Liverpool fans. Would you like to see AVB come back to the Premier League as your next manager or is someone like Rafa Benitez higher up on your list of choices? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
