Make use of the squadNewcastle United fans could be forgiven for not quite knowing if they are coming or going at the minute, with a great run of form ended by West Ham United in a rather unlucky defeat on the weekend – but their manager is not looking for excuses.

Alan Pardew is not ready to point to his suspensions or missing players – or even the fact that we are about to head into the busiest period of the season (unlike certain managers who are not even in the League Cup) and the Magpies boss wants his team to pick themselves up and carry on where they left off before the West Ham game.

With that in mind, we have put our heads together and have come up with five ways Pardew and his men can get back to winning ways and climb that league table once again.
