Chelsea are top at Christmas and here are five things Jose Mourinho’s men showed us

If Chelsea want to win the league, Cesc has to stay fitThis fixture last season saw Stoke beat Chelsea 3-2, so Jose Mourinho’s men knew they would have to start the match strongly.

With less than two minutes on the clock captain John Terry gave his side a very early lead.

A win was needed to restore space between themselves and closest rivals Manchester City so it was unsurprising that Chelsea took control of the game from start to finish.

Stoke defended well but were noticeably weaker than the league leaders.

A goal by Cesc Fabregas wrapped up the game though the 2-0 result didn’t accurately reflect Chelsea’s dominance.

With that in mind, here are five things we learnt about Chelsea.
