When a player is frozen out by their manager and limited to life on the bench with the occasional cameo appearance in the first team, fans generally do not blame them for being a little disheartened and potentially even looking to leave.
That is exactly the case with Lukas Podolski at the minute with the forward pulling no punches about the fact that there are clubs who are interested in him and that as fun as posting pictures of his days out on social media are, he wants to play week in, week out.
The Daily Star are the ones who contain all the quotes from Podolski and seem to think that a move could well be on the cards – and it is one that could leave the Gunners quite short on forward options as the season goes on – unless they decide to bring another striker in come the January transfer window of course.
It is undeniable that the forward has struggled to feature under Arsene Wenger but we still thought that the Frenchman would ideally like to keep the striker at the club until at least the end of the season – but it seems that the choice may be taken out of his hands should Podolski push for a transfer away – and it seems that he knows the ideal destination.
Podolski took a break from Instagram and claimed: ‘I can imagine a transfer to Cologne in the next few years because I’m always attached to the club.
‘I have always said that I want to hear this hymn again when walking up the stairs with the number 10 shirt.
‘That’s what I dream about and I hope it comes true again.’
Arsenal fans. Is this all Wenger’s fault for not playing Podolski and freezing him out? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.
