Are Liverpool SERIOUSLY set to re-sign the biggest Chelsea flop of all?

He is a figure of pity and mockery So the humiliation is complete for Fernando Torres.

Paid to leave Chelsea on loan for AC Milan, the Serie A side now do not want the forward and are desperate to return to sender.

Not exactly ideal for either Torres or Chelsea, who do not want or have space for the Spaniard – and will allow him to leave on a free such is their desperation to get rid of him.

One mooted destination for Torres has been his former club Liverpool, who managed to con Chelsea out of £50 million in the worst January sale of the decade before promptly blowing the majority of that cash on Andy Carroll – and now cannot score for love nor money and are actually wiling to entertain the idea of a Torres return.

In fact, some bookies even make Torres 6/1 to sign for Liverpool once again – and that would be a story and a half.

Torres of course left Liverpool for his big money move to Chelsea – and saw his career go down the toilet as quickly as his troll count on social media rose.

That being said, if Torres had to answer the question of if he would he move again should the clock roll back, you have to wonder if he’d actually change things given the trophies he has won at Chelsea – during the same time in which Liverpool won absolutely nothing to compare with a Champions League title.

Torres has won everything there is to win in football – both domestically and with Spain – and you could argue that he hit the jackpot in terms of his nationality and indeed teammates but he has won the Golden Boot, he did score at the Camp Nou to help Chelsea get to the Champions League final and he has chipped in a couple of goals here and there as well.

Of course, chipping in a couple of goals does not a £50 million man make and his personal form has certainly been regrettable.

Quite if he can go back to where it all started in terms of a move to Atletico Madrid – or in terms of his Premier League career remains to be seen – stranger things have certainly happened in football but Torres certainly does not have a future at Chelsea. That is the only certainty.

Liverpool fans. Would you take Torres back? Are you the club to help him rediscover his best form? Let us know your thoughts below, become a guest blogger or tweet us @LaFootyettes.

Er!!!!! No thanks. But then again on a free and a very very big drop in wages he could be worth a punt, after all we don’t have another striker available thanks to Hodgeson and Co.

There would have to be a enormously large piece of humble pie eaten by him before the Kop would be forgiving.

He could even rent Rafa’s house.
