Rooney named his picks, but who would make our Manchester United 5 aside team?

Manchester United may be without a midweek Champions League game but skipper Wayne Rooney seems to have found something to do in his spare time and has come up with a five aside team from his current squad.

He claimed: ‘Do you have to have a goalkeeper? If not, I’ll go for Angel [Di Maria], [Radamel] Falcao, Robin [van Persie] and [Juan] Mata.’

Not only did Rooney show his attacking instincts by failing to include any defenders in the side – he also omitted a goalkeeper and given the form of David De Gea this season, we were a little bit surprised at that to say the least!

One thing that did not surprise us however was the fact that no Englishmen managed to make the cut but quite frankly, bar Rooney himself, they wouldn’t make our side either!

With that in mind we have put our heads together and come up with our picks for a United five aside star studded team.
