It was a massive gamble for Rodgers this week – and it failed

The Liverpool boss came in for a huge (and deserved) amount of criticism after dropping five of his first team against Real Madrid earlier this week to rest them for the Chelsea game and that gamble failed in a big way.

The Reds have ended up losing both games and whilst they might be able to get into the next stage of the Champions League, their title hopes are officially over.

Not a great week for Rodgers, but great managers are defined by decisions like these and thus far, it has not been good enough from the Reds boss.
