Five reasons Liverpool should rest players against Real Madrid

When you play more than a game a week, hard decisions have to be madeLiverpool face a mammoth clash in the Champions League tonight against defending Champions of Europe and general giants Real Madrid and whilst some of their fans might be hoping that a Christmas miracle might come early, they may have to think again.

According to some of the press today, the Reds and manager Brendan Rodgers are far more concerned about their league fixture on Saturday against Chelsea – and are willing to rest players and essentially give Real Madrid an even bigger advantage on their home turf.

That is not something the fans really want to see, but given their chances of getting three points are already slim, they might be better focusing on their battle to finish in the top four of the Premier League once again.

With that in mind, here are five reasons Liverpool fans should not worry too much about the result tonight.
